Philippa

PHILIPPA MELSKI

Owner / Head Trainer

Philippa has been a professional hunter/jumper rider since the age of 20 and started her business in 2000. She competes locally, nationally, and internationally in hunters and jumpers. She has won several Grand Prix’s and Hunter Derbies, as well as multiple USEF Zone 9 Championships on different horses in various divisions. Philippa trains and coaches riders – both children and adults – of all levels.

Kristen

KRISTEN WHITESIDE

Trainer

Kristen brings years of experience teaching, showing and training. Her equestrian journey began in the Chicago area as a junior. After college, she migrated west to Northern California, eventually ending up in Oregon. Kristen demonstrates patience and understanding for both horse and rider, providing skills and insight to all. She enjoys the process of teaching and training, especially working with young horses. Kristen creates a fun and successful environment for all!

Sarah

SARAH GOODNOUGH

Barn Manager / Assistant Trainer

Sarah is the team's barn manager, as well as one of the coaches and riders. Although she grew up in Eugene, Sarah spent most of her professional years in Houston, Texas as rider and assistant trainer at Pine Hollow Farm. With experience at Devon, indoors, Derby Finals, Medal and Maclay Finals, and many more, she brings a well rounded approach to riding and training. Sarah has a love for immaculate horse care and takes great pride in her ability to customize a care plan for each and every horse.

Haley

HALEY FOSTER

Professional Rider

Haley has been riding for 17 years, spending her junior years in hunter and equitation, and currently, you'll also see her in the jumper ring with her new mare. She has had multiple top placings in the national hunter derbies and in 2017, placed in the top 5 of the Junior Hunter Finals. After taking a few years to get her degree in Finance, Haley returned to working with Flipside as one of its professional riders in all three rings.
